Art Nouveau architects used the facades of their buildings as spaces for endless experimentation. Art invaded the streets. Each facade became an entirely separate work of art, created using the skills of artists and artisans, to project the architect’s design into the public space. This tour will introduce you to the wide range of techniques and materials used in the Art Nouveau style, including carved stone, wrought iron, cast iron, timber, ceramics, sgraffiti and stained glass. You will also discover some lesser-known “hidden gems”.
Place of departure: At the corner of avenue Brugmann and avenue de la Jonction, 1060 Brussels
