Victor Horta and Paul Hankar: two visions of Art Nouveau directions_walk

Lasts 2h30

Victor Horta is generally considered to be the leading “organic” Art Nouveau architect and Paul Hankar the leading exponent of a more “geometric” Art Nouveau style. While Horta was busy revolutionising interiors, Hankar made striking changes to traditional facades. Both their approaches were Modernist in quite different ways, and their designs and ideas fed the imaginations of a generation of architects. This guided tour makes a comparative analysis of the personalities and work of these two Art Nouveau stars and the effect of their buildings on posterity.
